IBS, Chronic Sinusitis, Overweight
Thank you so much for all of your assistance with the LEAP program. The last 3 months have been life changing.
I have suffered from inflammation related issues (IBS, Chronic Sinusitis, joint pain, headaches, fatigue and difficulty losing weight) for years. Years of medical testing and taking countless medications had resulted in fleeting periods of relief and very little overall change. I was told by many doctors that I was perfectly healthy. I was left feeling depressed and helpless. After researching the impact of food sensitivities on thyroid functioning and hormones, I came across MRT testing and the LEAP protocol. Fortunately, I quickly found Sandra's information online. Desperate for the answers that I have been searching for over the past 20 years, I jumped at the chance to get started. After receiving my MRT test results I sat down with Sandra to review my beginning stages of the LEAP diet protocol. I was surprised to find that I had reacted mostly to food colorings and additives. I also had reacted to many foods that I had viewed as healthy (carrots, celery, beets, pineapple). Sandra helped me to go through the list of foods that I could eat during each stage of the plan. I was nervous and skeptical. Could I stick to this restricted list of "safe" foods? Would this really be any different than every other diet or supplements that I had tried?
The first couple of days were very tough. I was faced with temptations daily and planning for each meal was time consuming. Within a week, I started to notice improvements in my headaches and intestinal pain. In addition to the improvements in my health, I was losing weight. I could not believe that I was losing weight while still eating potatoes, milk and cheese. With each stage of the program I was able to add in more foods. My cravings for foods that I was not supposed to be eating dissipated. I suddenly had more energy than I have had in years. I stopped taking the daily antihistamine that I had been taking for years and I was shocked to see that my sinus issues did not return. Over the past 3 months I have seen my inflammation related symptoms almost completely disappear. Now, when I experience a headache, bloating or congestion, I can easily tie it to a new food in my diet or pinpoint the environmental factor (dust, stress) if I know that I have been sticking to my food plan. I have lost almost 15 pounds in 3 months. I consider the weight loss to be a bonus, with the improvements in my overall health and wellbeing being the ultimate prize. After only 3 months, I look at food in a completely new way. I am much more careful to avoid processed foods, I am more diligent about reading food labels, I realize that certain foods were putting too much strain on my immune system, and I now eat foods that help my body function at it best.
Thank you again for your guidance and for giving me to tools to enjoy my life again!

Migraines
I have been a migraine sufferer for almost 14 years now and they became progressively worse after the birth of my son in 2011. I knew that I did not want to take a daily prescription, but wanted to find a more natural solution to my problem. After meeting with Sandra and discovering my food sensitivities at the time, my migraines quickly faded and only came back if I got off track. It has been almost a year later since I started the diet and I am now able to eat almost all of the foods I was once sensitive to with no issues! Thanks so much Sandra for helping this girl get healthy and get her life back! I can now enjoy spending more time with my family!

Lifelong G.I. Distress
The LEAP testing has changed my life. I have had digestive issues for 30+ years. I never knew what was going to upset my stomach and cause debilitating pain. The pain was becoming increasingly more difficult to manage. I was not able to enjoy my life because I did not feel comfortable being far from a bathroom. I would make excuses for not going out. I was also very embarrassed around new people because I did not know when I would need to rush out of the room to the bathroom. I realized that I was also having fatigue, headaches and muscle cramps that were hindering me in many ways. I was starting to get very depressed and cried a lot because I did not know what was wrong with me. I had been to many doctors over the years. They would give me a prescription and run tests, but it never seemed to fix the problem. I did not like the medicine because there was always a side effect that left me feeling worse making my symptoms more difficult to manage.
My husband encouraged me to find answers and not to give up! I found your website and read about the LEAP test. It looked like what I needed to get the answers I was seeking.
My life has changed dramatically since I have been able to target the foods that work for me. Just today I took a short road trip to Bardstown and there were no issues. Before this, I would have been scared about when my stomach would start to cramp. Instead, I was able to enjoy the day without any pain or emergency trips to the bathroom while I was shopping with my mom. What a relief!
I have not had to take medicine for headaches in several months. Before, I was taking up to 6 ibuprofen a day to manage the various pain that I was having. I can focus at work and home because I'm not distracted by the pain, fatigue or depression. I also no longer feel anxious about going to the grocery because I know what I can buy to make meals that will satisfy me without the fear of pain after I eat it.
I am so thankful for the LEAP test and your gentle guidance during this process. I truly feel blessed to have found your website. You were an answer to many prayers over the years.

IBS and Hashimoto's
I have suffered from IBS and Hashimoto’s disease for 8 years. It made day-to-day activities incredibly difficult and it affected my physical and emotional wellbeing. I was no longer able to participate in social engagements, physical activity, and even simple chores around the house. I had tried cutting out spicy foods and dairy products, all the while taking too many medications for my symptoms. I was still experiencing the IBS symptoms and although I was on medication for Hashimoto’s, the symptoms were more severe than ever. Since working with Sandra and the LEAP program I have more energy, a better attitude towards life, and I no longer take the amount of medications I once did. I highly recommend Nutrition Works and the LEAP program for anyone suffering from IBS or Hashimoto’s disease.

G.I. Distress
I had stomach/GI problems for over a year after a visit to a Caribbean island. After numerous tests and exams to find out what was going on (all of which were inconclusive) my doctor suggested I might try Nutrition Works. I met Sandra and had a LEAP test done which indicated my immune system was reacting to some of the foods I ate on a regular basis. Sandra helped me change my eating habits and over time my symptoms have improved. I’m still working on identifying which foods work well for me and am encouraged by the progress I’ve made. I now eat healthier and smarter thanks to Nutrition Works.

G.I. Distress
About 2 weeks after I began the LEAP program, I noticed that I was no longer experiencing the severe gastrointestinal distress I suffered from most of my life. It was unbelievable how simply avoiding foods that my body was sensitive to impacted my life! I have struggled my entire life with these symptoms and it only took 2 weeks for them to be dramatically reduced.

Healing GI Distress Through Nutrition
When I first met with Sandra, my digestive system was so out of sorts that there were days that it was painful to even drink water. Even though I did not complete the LEAP program by-the-books, the information and insight Sandra provided helped me get back on the right track. More importantly, as I began to put better nutrition principles into practice, I found hope. It has been a long road, and I have a long way to go. However, I have come a long way as well. I have tried different foods and ways of eating and with Sandra's help found some things that work and some things that don't. Nutrition is a daily practice for me. It isn't easy. I had to face the fact that I am a caffeine addict and lactose intolerant. It was difficult letting go of my attachments to those foods. Once I got over that hump, however, I realized that I can heal myself through nutrition!

Ulcerative Colitis and Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Sandra and Nutrition Works are life changing. My entire life I struggled with my health and weight. No matter what I did or what “diet” I was following I still felt sick. Stomach issues, low energy, body aches and headaches were normal for me. It got to the point where I thought, if I am going to feel like this no matter what I eat, then I am just going to eat whatever I want, at least it would taste good.
Flash forward to late 2016 and I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and Eosinophilic Esophagitis. I knew something had to change. I decided I needed to see a nutritionist. But, I wasn’t sure who to see. It’s not something everyone does so finding recommendations is hard. I talked to my gastroenterologist and she told me about Sandra.
After meeting with Sandra, I knew the LEAP diet/program was going to be life changing, I just knew it. After completing the program, I can tell you my instincts were right. I don’t remember the last time I felt better. I don’t constantly feel sick and bloated, my body doesn’t hurt and I have more energy than I did before. I have the energy to exercise and do things with family and friends. I was even able to change the dosage of my medications as I didn’t require as much anymore.
All of this, just because I changed my diet. I changed my diet to fit my individual needs. I’ve realized there is no one size fits all solution for the issues I was having. Medication was just putting a Band-Aid on the issue and was not a solution.
I feel like I’ve got a new outlook on life. Perhaps even found a new passion. If you are having issues like I was, you will not regret having Sandra guide you and participating in the LEAP diet. It’s not easy, I won’t lie. But it’s so, so worth it. I cannot thank Sandra enough for all she has done for me and my life.

IBS
I started suffering from IBS in about 1968. I would have episodes off and on and with medical help learned to pretty much get it under control. Then came 1999. I thought I was just having one of my usual episodes and started my normal routine to gain control. No Luck. I went to the doctor and had numerous tests and tried all available medications (some experimental) and nutritional supplements, nothing worked. I was in excruciating pain having intestinal cramps, violent spasms and was exhausted never being able to gain control. My intestines were so tender the doctor could not touch my abdomen during examination without severe pain. Then 12 years later, I heard about you and the LEAP program. I have been on the program for only 3 months and no longer have the cramping and severe pain. My energy level has increased and I have lost 25 pounds. I believe most of my weight loss is do to the reduction of body fluids from inflammation throughout my body. Thank you for introducing me to LEAP and getting me on the right course to leading a better quality of life.

IBS
I used to suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome for 8 years and it has greatly affected my life. I was constantly tired and suffered frequent stomach pains, gas, and diarrhea. I missed lots of school and even would hold back on my social life due to the embarrassment and physical pain I was in. The diagnosis of IBS is one of exclusion. I had been tested for everything under the sun and when the doctors did not find anything, they just gave me the diagnosis of IBS and sent me on my way. I tried eliminating certain foods, but really struggled with sticking to a plan and being able to pinpoint specific triggers. Since working with Sandra and the LEAP Program I have experienced many positive effects. We were able to measure my sensitivity levels to numerous foods and additives. Sandra then helped me to formulate a regimented dietary schedule and come up with menu ideas. Throughout the program I was more in tune with my body and the various effects of certain foods. I now have very few IBS flair-up days thanks to Sandra's help working through the program. I highly recommend Nutrition Works and the LEAP program for anyone suffering from IBS!

Stomach Problems
I have struggled with stomach problems for as long as I can remember. As years went on, I began having other health issues as well. I would have at least 3 severe headaches a week, body aches and muscle cramps, sinus congestion and pressure, and trouble sleeping. My weight would fluctuate so frequently it was frustrating. I spent so much money doing the usual "medical" tests doctors recommend. I was on at least 12 pills a day just to try to manage my stomach symptoms. Needless to say, I was frustrated with little to no relief. I spent most of my time not feeling well and worrying. That's until I found Sandra and the LEAP program! I met with Sandra, and we decided this was the right plan for me. It has been the best decision I've ever made for my health! Not only am I nearly symptom-free, but I am so much healthier! I learned so much about food and nutrition, along with ways to listen to my body. It has been a blessing to work with Sandra through the LEAP program. I am 25 pounds lighter, living life more abundantly, and so happy I found the source of my symptoms!

Escalating IBS Symptoms
When I first met with Sandra Meyerowitz in August, 2014, I was close to the end of my “health rope”. I had tried everything recommended over a ten year period and my IBS-like symptoms had escalated to the point where acute diarrhea had curtailed my social life, I had to plan trips to the grocery carefully, and I was glad that there was a bathroom in my classroom. I had removed gluten, dairy, and soy from my diet. While each change brought some relief, the old symptoms would return with a vengeance. I went to internists, gastroenterologists, had tests for celiac disease, IBS, and parasites. All came back negative. I had tried the FODMAP diet, gluten challenge, and Levsin. There was no relief. My last gastroenterologist insisted that I had IBS and wanted to prescribe Lotronex. That’s when I drew the line and asked my current internist if she thought the Mayo Clinic could help me. She said “I know someone who works with people who have your symptoms.” Those proved to be MAGIC WORDS that changed my life for the better.
That “someone” was Sandra Meyerowitz, MPH, RD, LD, CLT. She listened, evaluated and suggested that I try the LEAP program under her guidance. I strictly adhered to the dietary guidelines based on the results of a blood test to assess food reactions. After three months with no cheating, I got my life back. By following the elimination diet methodically, reintroducing specific foods in order, and meeting with Ms. Meyerowitz every few weeks to assess progress, I got the results that had eluded me for over ten years.
I no longer have to worry about how far away I am from a restroom. I have a social life again. My husband says he’s “glad to have (me) back.” Thanks to Sandra, I found a natural way to regain and maintain good health. I am forever grateful.

Surgeon Recommends Nutrition Works for IBS Colitis
Being in my late 50's and diagnosed with IBS colitis, my surgeon referred me to Sandra with Nutrition Works who introduced me to the LEAP program. At this age having to totally change your diet wasn't easy and on my 10th day into my new LEAP phase 1 menu, I almost gave in. Now I'm proud to say in my 4th month I graduated and feel so much better. Autoimmune and inflammatory issues are now part of my past and my future brings healthy eating, not only for me, but also my husband who's diabetes A1C dropped .6 points to 6.9. I am so thankful I made it through that 10th day and for Sandra encouraging me all the way. I have also discovered that one of my other worst enemies, RAGWEED, is much improved as well - which was a wonderful surprise! This is one of the BEST things I have done for myself and if you are on the fence about taking this life-changing step- just do it! One step, one phase at a time --- Patience is needed and well rewarded.

No Longer Feeling Awful After Eating
I am happy to report that I feel like a million bucks! Since our last meeting I reintroduced the remaining foods on my list. Namely peanuts and dairy which I would have sworn were culprits before I started this process. But in the end egg yolks are my food sensitivity, or nemesis, as I look at it. It has all come clear that the foods I thought I couldn’t eat were actually the cover for the underlying issue with egg yolks. Without your help I would have never figured this out. Thank you so much. I feel the best I have in years. The freedom to cook, and bake (albeit yolk free), and eat what I want without the fear of feeling awful is the best. If you would send my doctor a note letting him know how much your testing and guidance has helped, I would appreciate it. Thank you again!

Debilitating Reflux
Working with Sandra, and learning about MRT testing, changed my life in the most positive way. After battling debilitating acid re-flux for almost eight years, I now understand what my body was telling me for so long. Sandra is a compassionate listener and was very encouraging during the entire process. This is a lifelong gift anyone should give to themselves.

Bladder & IC Issues
The Right Food Can Provide Relief
Do you suffer from symptoms like headaches, joint pain, anxiety, diarrhea, or reflux? And have you spent endless hours searching for answers that will alleviate your discomfort? The answers you are looking for are not always easily found and you may feel like this continuous search for relief will never end. You are not alone in your pursuit of feeling better. After visiting with numerous doctors without success, there may be one treatment option still undiscovered by you.
Melanie was in this position. She came to Nutrition Works after spending years looking for answers to her health problems. She suspected the food she was eating was making her sick, but no one had been able to verify that hunch and they sent her on her way. Every time she went to a doctor, she was told that everything was fine, but she knew that things were not fine. She had too many sick days accrued and spent too much time in pain for everything to be fine.
Melanie followed Nutrition Works’ LEAP program for food sensitivities and within six weeks she had reduced her symptoms drastically. Her symptom survey score (a tool that is used to measure symptoms all over the body) was 136 before she began the program and 27 after 6 weeks. She has generously allowed her story to be published here to share a treatment option that could provide others with relief also. In her own words, here is Melanie’s story.
Melanie’s Story
Health wise, I was considered very healthy by any doctor I would visit. I felt awful though and knew something was wrong but couldn't figure out what. I would complain to my doctor of all sorts of symptoms and I had all sorts of tests run... all showing I had nothing wrong. I would miss work and social events often, because I literally couldn't get out of bed. Whatever was going on in my body was ruining my life. So, I was referred to Nutrition Works by my physical therapist to have my food sensitivities checked. No doctor ever told me about this option.
I was having many different symptoms, some were severe enough to keep me in bed all day and some were just constantly lingering. I had migraines just about once or twice a week. I felt like I had the flu everyday... body aches, no energy, sore to the touch, cranky, bladder frequency and urgency, diarrhea, gas and bloating, burning ears, yeast infections (that were resistant to Diflucan). I felt like I had been run over by a truck and had no energy to exercise. A nap was an absolute must every day. I also had dizziness, lightheadedness, shaking, and nausea.
I had many different tests run by different doctors... blood work, endoscopy, colonoscopy, bladder installations. Every doctor said the same thing as far as me having no deficiencies or odd results. I was looked at like a hypochondriac. I felt very alone and depressed about my health and the fact that I didn't know what was wrong with me or if it would ever go away. So basically I had no treatment or relief of my symptoms prior to the LEAP program. Figuring out what foods I can eat has changed my life. I am no longer a prisoner of my "sick" body. I feel like I can do anything and not be held back. My symptoms disappeared in about a week. I feel very fortunate to have found the LEAP program.
There were many surprising foods and chemicals that came back as reactive on the test. I felt that a lot of these foods were "healthy" and I was eating lots of them. I had no idea that certain foods converted into chemicals that my body could not handle. Media and even a lot of the health and diet books I read would encourage copious amounts of these "healthy" foods. While they may be healthy to some people, they are poison to my body. I had to learn that everybody is different and what works for some may not work for others. We are not one size fits all when it comes to a healthy diet.
I would recommend the LEAP program to everyone with general aches, pains, allergies, and digestive problems that most people just put up with. It can also be a godsend to anyone who feels like something is wrong, but all of their tests are negative and their doctor finds nothing. I tell anyone that asks what I have done and they are surprised that food can have such an effect on the body.
Food sensitivities are difficult to pinpoint because obvious symptoms may not show up for 72 hours. With the passage of time, it is very difficult to identify which foods or chemicals may have caused the problems. Working with an experienced registered dietitian who is a food sensitivity specialist, like Sandra at Nutrition Works, eliminates the mystery so a custom made diet can be created.

Migraines and Bladder Pain
For a long time I hadn’t been feeling well. I had been living a very healthy lifestyle, yet still felt terrible. I had bouts of depression, mood swings, poor bladder control, migraines, severe asthma attacks, chronic pain, upset stomach/acid reflux, I couldn’t concentrate, and more. I saw something on TV about food sensitivities and searched the Internet for more information. LEAP-MRT and Nutrition Works came up, and eventually I decided to try it. I just wanted to live a normal life. The hardest part of the program was maintaining it while traveling. However after eliminating the foods I’m most sensitive to (reds and yellows) I feel so much better. Not just physically, but emotionally as well. The only thing I miss is whip cream, and watermelon. I had no idea that my frequent watermelon consumption was playing a part in how I felt every day. I frequently recommend and tell people about the LEAP program.

Interstitial Cystitis-IC
I came to Nutrition Works after having been diagnosed with IC for over fifteen to twenty years.
During those years I had been to different doctors and tried different medicines prescribed by them. The pain continued and the UTI’s continued. What I was eating and drinking was thought to be causing me the IC problem. I was supposed to watch what I drank and ate. That worked to some degree, but not completely. How was I supposed to know what I was supposed to eat and drink when everything out there seemed to bother my bladder?
I came into contact with Nutrition Works over the internet. Nutrition Works has really helped me. Am I completely free from pain? No, but I now have a better idea on what I can or cannot eat or drink to lessen my pain. I learned that drinking a lot of water was one of the key elements. And if I had not taken the blood test, I would not have known exactly what foods or drinks were affecting my bladder. Now that I only drink water and stay off foods that I know trigger my bladder, I am 75-80% pain free.
I liked the LEAP program because it made me accountable. I had to record everything, and at the end I had to evaluate what it did for me. The good things that came out of this program are: my pain is better, it has made me a healthier person by not eating “junk food” and food that wasn’t good for me in the first place. Do I miss the food I used to eat? No! I still have plenty to eat. I just go about it a different way and I think about it in a different way. I have lost weight! I feel better about myself!
I would recommend Nutrition Works and the LEAP program to anyone who has these kinds of problems. Why? Because I saw good results from it. Sandra was really good to work with. Nutrition Works has been a good start for helping me be more pain free and for helping me to become a healthier person both inside and out. Thanks!

Fatigue, Mood Swings, and Joint Pain
Severe Fatigue
Prior to meeting with Sandra Meyerowitz and completing the Leap program, I slept all the time, but felt it wasn’t enough. I just didn’t feel right. I ate healthy and thought I was doing everything right. My sister recommended I see a nutritionist.
Sandra honestly has changed my life. She introduced me to the Leap program and explained that it would be the best program for me. Within the first 2 weeks I noticed a change. After 3 months I feel like a completely different person. I’m not fatigued all the time (stopped drinking coffee). I wasn’t swollen anymore. I’m so much more relaxed. It’s crazy how much food plays a role in every aspect of your life (not just physical).
I highly recommend seeing a Sandra as your nutritionist. Again, she has changed my life.

Fibromyalgia
I am better than ever, and I cannot express in words how much I appreciate everything you have done for me! This is how I summarized my experience to a friend who is experiencing fibromyalgia and other similar symptoms to mine…
“Oh my goodness, where do I begin...
1. SYMPTOMS
There is not one symptom that comes to mind that I have not seen improve. To give you an idea of how much this program improved my symptoms, I will tell you my symptom survey results. (The higher the number, the more symptoms and severity... Also, my scores are listed at the end of the previous week, and beginning of the current phase).
Phase I: score = 147 This was my score before I started the program... That is almost as bad as it can get.
Phase II: 53 I dropped almost 2/3 of my first score! You can see how far I came, just after the first week.
Phase III: 44 This week I thought my score would have been higher than the phase 2 score, based on all the variables present in my life. I was going through a really hard time, but I still improved. I'm telling you, this program works!
Phase IV: 23 It is crazy how much my symptoms disappeared!
Phase V: 39 Now, it is hard to judge the real significance of this score because I had some reactions to foods, which obviously blew up my symptoms... The symptom survey asks you to rate each symptom based on the entire phase. So although I felt great the day I filled out the survey, I had to take into account everything I felt that week. You don't fill out the survey based on what you feel at that moment.
2. HOW CHALLENGING?
I am going to be completely honest... This will be one of the hardest things you will go through in your entire life. It is going to be a real challenge. It is going to challenge your will-power, strength, and determination. You just have to focus on the end results. The first several days, I felt like I had the flu, but that's what your body does when it removes all those toxins. But as you saw above, I still improved so much. This is not just a nutrition program. This is a lifestyle. I promise you that all the hard work will pay off! Which leads me to #3...
3. HOW DO I FEEL NOW?
I have never felt this amazing in my entire life! This program has saved my life! I will never be the same person, and it is absolutely amazing to see how far I have come! A few months before this program, I really started taking care of my body. I lost 30 pounds and became dedicated to exercising and eating a healthy diet. I felt like a different person, and I was skeptical about doing this program because I couldn't imagine it helping me much more. BOY WAS I WRONG!
After about the first 2.5 weeks, I was a whole new woman! I had so much energy! I could sleep 6 hours every night and have energy all day long! I no longer had headaches or migraines. I was pretty much pain-free! I was so happy, always smiling and laughing! ...I am all of that and so much more today! Not only did this change how I felt physically, it has changed my mental health just as much! This program has motivated me to try new things and push my limits. I have so much confidence, and my self-esteem has improved so much!
I could go on for days! You will really see how much this program does for you when you decide to cheat and eat something you know you shouldn't. I have done it a couple times, and I pretty much felt like I had the worst hangover imaginable!
If you are thinking about trying the LEAP program, you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain!

Tingling and Joint Pain
In the winter of 2016 I began experiencing unexplained symptoms. It all began with what I thought was an ear infection, only to be told that nothing was wrong when I went to the doctor. My ear continued to hurt on and off for months. Then in February of 2017 I began experiencing prickly sensations and jabs of pain in my feet, legs and hands, along with my inner ear throbbing on and off. I returned to the doctor and was tested for diabetes. Thankfully my tests came back normal, but still no answers as to the symptoms I was experiencing. These symptoms continued to come and go. In May of 2018 I found myself back at the doctor complaining of prickles and swelling in my hands and feet, stiffness in my joints, and just feeling sluggish. Blood was drawn to rule out arthritis, Lyme disease and other things. Once again the results came back negative. Still no explained answers and I was starting to get frustrated. I began to wonder if this was going to be my new normal.
One day my husband was doing some research online and came across Nutrition Works. When he first told me about it I was leery because I had been to the doctor several times and had no answers as to why I was feeling so crumby. It took me several months before I actually scheduled my first appointment with Sandra. After meeting with her the first time I had a glimmer of hope and decided to do the LEAP Program.
After my test results came back showing my food sensitivities we met again to review them. Sandra is wonderful to explain everything and how the program works. I was amazed after one week of following the program I felt so much better. I had more energy, I didn’t feel as stiff and I was surprised by the strength in my hands and that I could once again open bottle lids with ease.
I was surprised by the foods that I was sensitive to and that even though what I was eating was healthy, it actually was causing me to feel sluggish and not well. Since I have done this program I no longer have any of my previous symptoms.
Each morning when I wake up feeling good, I count my health as one of my greatest blessings. I am grateful to have found answers. I am grateful for Sandra, for the answers she provided, and for her guidance in helping me in my journey to a healthier me.

Fatigue and Bloating
When I came into Sandra's office I was suffering from severe fatigue, bloating, and other symptoms. During and after the LEAP program I became more conscious of the food and chemicals I was consuming. Before the program I never read labels and now reading labels is the first thing I do when I pick up something at the grocery store. Being aware of your food sensitivities is very empowering for anyone suffering with a digestive ailment.

Extreme Fatigue and Mood Swings
I used to experience extreme fatigue, mood swings, and high levels of hunger before I started the LEAP program. Now, a few months later, these symptoms have greatly decreased. I feel much more energized and calm, and because I know what foods work for my body, I consume fewer calories in a day as well. Although it wasn't easy changing my eating habits and the ways I think about food, I am beyond happy that I went through the process. And since I have learned to strictly monitor what goes in my mouth, I have also lost 11 pounds in the last 2 months. I can't imagine going back to my old eating habits.

Malaise/Joint Pain/Cholesterol
I contacted Sandra because I was looking for a natural solution to my general feeling of malaise/joint pain/gut issues and also for combating high cholesterol without medication. She suggested an MRT panel - the results were surprising to say the least. We got to work and now approximately four months later, I feel better than I have in 10 years! I have landed on my perfect weight AND my cholesterol is down over 100 points! Eating clean is absolutely the way to go! Honestly, everyone should take the time to do this type of work - it will change your life. Thanks Sandra!

Fatigue, Indigestion, and Joint Paint
I was tired of the indigestion, joint pain and fatigue that I endured for so long. After doing some research, I came across the LEAP Program and Sandra's website. I am so happy I did! By following the advice and direction I received from Sandra, I no longer have any issues and I feel 90% better. I also learned that what I thought was good for me was not always the case. I can't tell you it's easy but I can tell you it's worth it! Sandra was great and always gave me options and ideas on how to live a healthier life. Thank-you Sandra!

Migraines and Headaches

Headaches and Joint Pain
I investigated the LEAP diet because I was having recurring vascular headaches and trouble staying alert and awake during mid-day and afternoons at work. I was not happy to just continue treating the symptoms. I thought I was eating a very healthy diet at that time. I discovered I have food sensitivities to some of the healthy foods I was eating.
I have been following the LEAP diet for 3 months and worked with Sandra at Nutrition Works through the first phases of the program. This program has offered me healthy and delicious food alternatives. The headaches and afternoon tiredness has gone almost completely. I also have less muscular and joint pain, even after vigorous exercise and activity. Even though losing weight was not a goal, I’ve lost about 6 pounds and I’m feeling good at my new weight. My food choices and tastes have changed and I eat differently now; know of more appropriate food options for me and I feel so much better. There is freedom in knowing what I can eat and what I need to avoid eating to feel good.

Weight Management
Losing Weight and Feeling Great
I started working with Sandra because I had tried to lose weight many times before, but could never really keep the weight off. Diet, exercise, the combination of diet and exercise -- it really never worked for me. I realized that my biggest problem was food and my attitudes toward food. I didn't want to go on a "diet" because that type of eating wasn't something I felt I could sustain. I really wanted to attack this long term. Books and websites are okay, but I'd been down that road before. I felt that the help of a nutrition professional was my best chance at success.
My first meeting with Sandra, I told her that I wanted a plan for eating that can last the rest of my life. I know what foods are good and bad for me, but I don't know how to control how much I eat. Also, I'm not a salad eating person at all. If this is going to work, it had to happen without having to eat a salad as a meal. Among the things that Sandra and I discussed were portion control, what it feels like to be "full", planning out snacks, alternative choices to my "trigger foods," nutrients, the importance of fiber and protein and vitamins. We also addressed several of my own personal issues with food including certain behaviors and habits developed while I was growing up.
In my 8-weeks with Sandra, I was able to lose a little over 2 pounds per week with an overwhelming majority of that weight being fat loss. I am maintaining good eating habits. Because of the work I've been doing in the gym in conjunction with how I eat now, my clothing sizes have dropped despite only losing around a pound a week now. Translation: I'm putting on muscle. I'm down from size 40 jeans to 36 (and they're getting loose now too). My XXL and XL t-shirts no longer fit right because they are too big. I'm more vibrant when working with people and my mind is able to take on more now. I wouldn't trade those 8 weeks for anything. The habits I was able to develop with Sandra are now a seamless part of my life that happen without giving them a second thought.

Down 20 Pounds With a Better Understanding of How Food Works
Sandra: I want to thank you for all that you have taught me about nutrition. When my Dr. diagnosed me with type 2 diabetes in late February, I was devastated. I really had no idea which way to turn. After meeting with you for the first time, I felt the weight lift off of my shoulders. It wasn't anything like I thought. I kind of thought you would just start telling me what I could never eat again. To my surprise, you initiated small changes to my diet and tweaked those changes over a matter of weeks. I have a better understanding of how to understand food labels and make better choices. I also have a better understanding of how food works to fuel my body. I believe before anyone begins a program to lose weight, they should start with understanding their nutrition. Exercise alone is simply not enough to make lasting changes for your health. I am down 20 lbs and have a long way to go. But when you compare my life to what it was in February, I am a different person. Again, thank you for your help and I look forward to working together as I reach my goals.

Unexpected Benefits: Weight Loss and Back Pain Relief
Deciding to take the “leap” and call Sandra was one of the best calls I’ve ever made. Discovering my food sensitivities through the MRT blood testing and following the Lifestyle Eating and Performance (LEAP) program helped me regain my energy and feel so much better. The unexpected benefits of the program were weight loss and relief from constant back pain.

A Simple Approach to Weight Loss
I finally hit a point where I constantly felt uncomfortable and knew it was time to lose weight. Since my kids were getting older, I couldn’t use that excuse anymore. Wanting to not just start some type of fad diet, I started searching the Internet for the best, most credentialed dietitian. One quick Google search and Sandra popped to the top of the list as the most impressive dietitian that promoted healthy lifestyle changes.
“Coach” Sandra is unique because she had me make my own eating decisions and simply gave me ideas of good things to eat and drink (water, nuts and seafood!). Her approach is simple and low pressuring. I have lost over 40 pounds and feel better than I have in 20 years!

Eating the Right Foods That Are Healthy for YOU
I was looking for an alternative to traditional medications, when I found Nutrition Works and the LEAP program. I didn’t really have any specific ailments, but was just interested in discovering the foods my body is sensitive to. Although I didn’t have any specific ailments I feel better now after going through the LEAP program, partially due to losing 20lbs. The LEAP program is more than eating healthy, it’s learning to eat the healthy foods that are actually healthy for YOU. I was eating green smoothies with spinach, but it turns out spinach is something that I’m highly sensitive to. The hardest part was just breaking that routine and getting started. Now my diet is so much more varied than it was before.

The Best Part is Feeling Better
I've lost 16 pounds since making an appointment with Sandra (8 weeks ago), and I feel so much better. The best part has been feeling better, learning how to eat the right foods, and then seeing the benefits of it.

I Added Foods to My Diet
..Sandra, your program changed my life by making it (1) longer and (2) better. Not only did your program teach me what to avoid but also- and even more importantly- what new foods to add to my diet. You taught me how to survive the toughest holiday party environments and to find good nutrition among many temptations. As your tutorials progressed, my cholesterol decreased along with my blood pressure.

Finding Out About My DNA Helped Change My Life
My decision to involve a professional nutritionist into my life journey did not come easy but it was the BEST decision I have made for myself. It helped me to see clear paths and impactful changes which in a very short time have turned into positive results. Sandra's offering of an in depth DNA testing and her assistance in interpreting those results helped me see clearly what I needed to do to help not only lose weight but feel better overall. My "brain fog" and lethargy left quickly, weight loss has been steady, knowledge of my body and how it reacts to different things helps me "take ownership" of myself. No more guessing or wondering - I have the facts thanks to the help of Sandra! I highly recommend making the investment into yourself with the help of Sandra.
